Whale Engineering work closely with a number foundries to deliver a diverse range of casted parts and components in a variety of different grade materials across the cast iron, steel and aluminium spectrum.

Aluminium

Aluminium’s best characteristics are its high corrosion resistance and light weight. The casting process which can be used with aluminium are

  • Investment Casting

  • Shell Casting

Cast Iron

Cast iron is provided in two different types, grey and ductile, however the characteristics of both are quite different. While grey cast iron provides excellent machinability and wear resistance, but has a tendency to be brittle brittle. Ductile iron, however, provides high strength, flexibility and durability.

Steel

Many different types of steel can be casted – carbon, stainless, low alloy and duplex. Characteristics of steel are its strength and hardness, however it is prone to degrade in certain atmospheric conditions and through with wear, so often needs to be coated.

  • Gravity Die Casting

  • High Pressure Die Casting
